Would Apple offer me some sort of reimbursement/discount on my 5th Gen iPod since now they are $100 less?
I bought my 5th Generation iPod, 80 gigs, back in June, for $349. Well, now, going under the pseudonym “iPod Classic,” the 80 gig model is priced at only $249, and has better specs to boot, while the 160 gig model is $349, the same price as mine, but with twice the storage. If I called Apple to complain, do you think they would offer me a credit or discount on merchandise? Is it worth pursuing? Or does Apple just suck?

Apple doesn’t suck, you just didn’t do your research. This is the way of almost *every* technology company on the face of the planet. Newsflash: Technology advances, prices drop and the new becomes old almost instantly. This is why we invest in precious metals, real-estate and not cars, boats or technology.
If Apple reimbursed every customer that was dissatisfied that their latest purchase isn’t as good as the current generation, well, nobody would have an ipod (since they’d be out of business).
Seriously, Go buy a new blackberry, or a car for that matter, and in 1-2 months, it’s dropped 200$ or 20% (for the car). Everything depreciates, it’s a fact of life.
Blaming apple is simply a naive and conceded point of view.
