I need help with my ipod. Its an apple ipod. It says

Your iPod should only say this when it is connected to your computer (or other power source). This merely means that it is OK to unplug your iPod.
If this is on your iPod screen when it is not plugged into anything, then you have a malfunctioning iPod. I would suggest restarting the iPod. Depending on what model you have there are different ways of doing this. You can find out how to do it at: http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/five_rs/.
