Is the iPad worth the buy?

I’m considering which Apple product I should buy, a Macbook Pro, or an iPad. I really wanted a Macbook Pro before, but, now, I realize that I don’t have Wifi in my house, and it’s going to be a real pain always trying to find a Wifi Hotspot. The iPad I was going to get was the 32 gb Wifi equipped iPad with 3G. I have a friend who works at a warehouse that associates with Apple, so I won’t be paying full price for the product.
I just wanted to know, from current iPad owners, or people who have used it before, is it a good product, and is it worth the buy?
Also, I’m not sure if this means anything, but I currently have a 32GB iPod Touch.

Go with the Macbook, as an iPad is only an enlarged version of an iPhone with less features than a Macbook Pro. The iPad looks, feels and works exactly like an iPhone or an iPod. The only differences from an iPod and an iPad, is that it has a much bigger screen and a few more add-ons. The Macbook is a full high-end laptop that can run most applications designed for computers.
