Comparing The LG Octane To The Apple IPhone 4
Choosing between phones nowadays is growing tougher and tougher. It wasn’t too long ago that the iPhone was far and away the absolute best smart phone on the market. However, in the past year or so, a large number of phones have been released that are nearly as good as the iPhone. Although Apple’s latest release, the iPhone 4, is their best yet, there are still a few phones that are giving it a major challenge; one of these challengers is the LG Octane. The LG Octane shares many of the same features with the iPhone 4, but there are some striking differences. Let’s take a look at a few of them so that you can decide which phone to purchase.
Perhaps the most notable difference between the two is the overall design and look. There has been little innovation in the iPhone line of phones since they were first released in 2007, and the iPhone 4 looks nearly identical to the earlier iterations of the iPhone. The LG Octane, on the other hand, takes a dramatic turn from the look of a conventional phone. Rather than the candy bar design of the iPhone, the LG Octane has brought back the clamshell design. When the Octane is close, a small LCD screen on the front will give you info on certain statuses of your phone. When you open it, you will be greeted with a large QWERTY keyboard and a full touch screen.
Although both of these phones are great devices for social networking, but it seems like the LG Octane might have the edge against the iPhone 4. In fact, the LG Octane seems to have been specifically designed for the person who loves to keep in touch with his family and friends on social networking sites. The integration of Twitter and Facebook are absolutely seamless on the LG Octane. On the iPhone 4, you can download Facebook or Twitter apps, but then they aren’t as easy to use as on the LG Octane, because the Octane has the QWERTY keyboard. This makes it a snap to compose text messages or to change your status update.
Gaming is another interesting point of contention between these two phones. The LG Octane contains a D-Pad, which can make gaming a lot easier, opposed to the iPhone 4. However, iPhone 4 users have access to the App Store, which has a far greater selection of games than you will get on the Verizon phone. However, the LG Octane does come with several games preloaded, which cannot be said for Apple’s device.
Finally, the accessory category is also pretty good on both devices. There have been a lot of iPhone accessories created over the years, but the selection of LG Octane accessories isn’t too shabby. For both phones, you’ll easily be able to find any LG Octane case or iPhone case that you might want. You may also consider purchasing some good car chargers to keep your phone’s batteries up and running, specially when you’re out and traveling.
