I hate exercising almost as much as I love my couch, but it is good for you so you try to do it regularly. Because of knee and back problems I can not run or bike so I took swimming and it is really boring! Then I bought this Ipod one month ago and it just works! Before I was counting my laps obsessively trying to get to the end, now my problem (if you want to call it that way) is that I forget to count them and I just keep swimming. As a result, I have increased my time from 30 to 50 minutes and, to my pleasant surprise, I have consistently reduced the time it takes me to swim 50 m from 80 to 75 sec (in good days even to 70 sec) even at the end of my now longer workout. Some people complain about the sound. Yes it is not perfect but it is good enough and still far, far better than listening to the water splashing. It is very easy to use, extremely light, and once you get used to it you can easily navigate the menu even with the Ipod in the back of your goggles. Yes you have to find the earphones for water. I bought the PYLE PWPE Marine Sport Water Proof which works only on my left ear. Having said that, I have never found any ear plug that works on my right ear (I breathe on that side) so this is not different from the many plugs I have bought in the past. But even listening to music with my left ear only it is still great, so for those of you with normal ears it should be a blast. An added bonus: it is just fun to see people interrupting their conversation or opening their eyes wide open when they see me getting in the water with the Ipod. This is a great product, it has changed the way I approach the pool, now 6 times a week as opposed to 3 times a week like before, and if you are a couch potato like me and you are trying to exercise in the pool you will not be disappointed.
