iPhone OS 4 works with iPod touches 3rd gen 8 gb ?
is this version released yet ? or when is it gonna be released ??

The 32gb and 64gb 3rd gen ipod touches(iphone 3GS) get full functionality with this update, then the 8gb 2nd and 3rd gen 8gb and the 2nd gen16gb and 32gb (iphone3g too) get the update as well except not 100%, they will not be able to multitask.
None of the 1st gen ipod touches can update to 4.0 at all when it comes out, nor the 1st gen iphones!
