Apple Ipad Business
Is it possible to email pdf attachments with gmail using apple ipad?
I am considering purchasing an Apple iPad to use for my small business, however, I need to know a couple of things first. I know it’s possible to use Gmail on the iPad, but how complex is it? I sell pdf files as part of my business and need to be able to email them to customers. Is this a possibility? Can I work on my Google docs spreadsheets using the iPad? Or at least view them? Can I upload and download documents (pdf or word files) using Google docs? Or am I going to need to stick to my computer for all of this? Thanks in advance for your help.
There are 3 ways to view PDF’s on the ipad right now:
1. Email – The iPad supports viewing PDF files that are sent as attachments via email in the Mail application. Simply download the attachment, click to launch, and you can view the PDF.
2. Safari Web Browser – Selecting a link to a PDF file in the Safari web browser will also allow you to view an image inline.
With these first two, there are limitations to the built-in support. If you reopen a PDF file, it does not maintain the last read page location. And if there are clickable links in the PDF, such as in the Table of Contents, you cannot click on them. So, you’re stuck scrolling down potentially hundreds of pages to get to the location you want.
3. There is an app called GoodReader that is available in the iTunes store for a price of $0.99.
GoodReader offers a lot of additional functionality when dealing with PDF files. It supports large PDF files, text files, and also Office, iWork, images, audio, and video files. In addition, it allows you to transfer files in a variety of ways, including:
