Why is Apple hypocritical?
They disallow Flash on iphone and ipad because Flash is ‘closed’, yet they want their closed h264 video codec to be the standard video format for HTML 5.
WebM is equal feature-wise to h264 and does not have any licensing fees.
Google, Mozilla and Opera have said they will support WebM not h264.
Safari has very little marketshare and Internet Explorer is rapidly losing users, so WebM will win eventually.
Because Apple only cares about pushing their platform. They stand to gain more by supporting HTML5, than by allowing Flash on their devices.
I’m not trying to hate on Apple, I’m merely stating a fact.
