iPod with a circled red X on the screen?
My friend from work is having trouble with his son’s iPod. He gave it to me to fix but I’m out of ideas. When I “turn it on” a circled red X appears on the screen with a web address for support below it. Here is the page… http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1463?viewlocale=en_US I have tried the instructions but nothing works. It says to put it in disc mode but that doesn’t work-the red X screen just keeps popping up. Is there some kind of outside program or something I could use to reset/restore it to factory settings? My wife and 3 of her friends all have iPod Nano 3rd Generations (same as the one I’m having trouble with) and I manage them all with my MacBook and I’ve never had a problem like this in 1 1/2 years. If anyone knows how to resolve ths issue, please let me know. Thanx!
