How to fix greyed out wifi on iPhone 3g WITHOUT jailbreaking?
I have the iPhone 3g with version 3.0.1 software. I don’t usually use wifi and it drains my iPhone so I disabled it awhile ago. Today I downloaded the remote app though and I need to get on my home wireless connection to use remote with my computer. Now wifi doesn’t even have the option to enable instead it’s greyed-out and says no wifi. I reset my router and checked the connection on the computer. Then I reset network settings and restarted the phone based on some advice online but still nothing.
Does anyone have any other simple solutions that might work besides downgrading or jailbreaking my iPhone? I’m generally good with computers but my phone is only a month old and under warranty so nothing too complicated please – worst case I will bring it to the apple store and make them fix it or swap it out.
I did reset network settings, I wrote that in my post
just reset the iPhone’s network setting, the Wifi option comes back to normal. To reset the network settings, go to “Settings” -> General -> Reset -> Reset Network Settings.
