Will apple repair this?
I got a brand new iphone 4 last week, and today i went to pull out the headphones, only for the internal wire to snap, leaving me with the metal part of the headphones and a milimetre of copper wiring sticking out the heaphone jack. i am unable to make calls, kr listen to music, as the iphone is still registering headphones in the jack. i have tried removing it with pliers, tweezers etc but i am VERY concious of damaging the headphone jack, so i would rather apple fixed this. would they make me pay? i live in the uk, and seen as ive only just purchased this and didnt damage it myself, will it come under my warranty, if i take it to the genius bar?
Do not touch the headphone jack, quit messing with it! The Genius will give you either a replacement or repair the phone for you. It is covered under the warranty but if you continue to prod the headphone jack you might cause some more damage that could unintentionally void the warranty. Apple’s great with their warranties, don’t worry too much.
