iPhone 3GS Device only price?
Hi guys.
I am from the UK, but have just had my family over from Toronto for the festive season. My brother in law was telling me that in Canada the iPhone 3gs is available device only for around $650. I have been looking for a price for the handset only but can’t seem to find one, could anybody please confirm the price for me.
Also, as I am planning on using this handset in the UK, if it is bought from an Apple store, would it be locked to a network? Or would the fact that it is being used out of Canada mean that it would not have to be used on particular network? Would the phone need unlocking?
So basically I’m looking for,
- Price of iPhone 3GS Handset (16 and 32 GB Models)
- Is iPhone from Apple store locked to network?
- Would it need unlocking for use in the UK?

1. iPhone 3GS in US are $599 (16GB) and $699 (32GB) from Apple Store but will cost comparatively less in eBay.
2. Yes, the iPhone will be locked to it’s carrier. It’s locked to AT&T in US.
3. Yes, the phone has to be unlocked before you can use it in UK.
